Introduction
------------

The Online Bible for Macintosh is a program designed to make Bible study
easier and more productive. Modules for use with Online Bible include
English Bible translations, Greek and Hebrew bibles, Commentaries, Study
notes, Topical Indices, Bible Dictionaries, and other Bible study aids.

Downloading
-----------

All of the Online Bible files are stored in MacBinary format. When
you FTP these files you need to make sure that you're transferring
in Binary mode. If you're using a UNIX ftp client, just type "bin" at
the ftp prompt to switch to binary transfer mode.

Installation
------------

The Online Bible program and modules are stored in Apple's Disk Image
format. To use these files, you need to download a copy of ShrinkWrap,
which is available in the Online.Bible directory.

Once you've downloaded the Online Bible program, modules, and ShrinkWrap,
you have two options for installation:

        1) Use ShrinkWrap to create installation floppies from the disk image
files and install from the floppies, or

        2) Use ShrinkWrap to mount the image files and install from the
           mounted image files.

If you've got enough free RAM and/or hard disk space, method 2 will
let you install much faster. If you don't have enough free RAM or
disk space, or you want to make floppies so you can distribute the Online
Bible to your friends, you'll need to use method 1.

If you have Stuffit Deluxe installed, you can simply drag and drop the
stuffed image files on ShrinkWrap, and it will automatically unstuff them.

Which Modules Should You Install?
---------------------------------

At the absolute minimum, you'll need the Online Bible Program and
the KJV module. This installation will take approximately 6 MB
    of disk space.

The author's recommended installation includes the Online Bible program,
the KJV & RSV modules, and the Greek & Hebrew lexicons. This installation
will take approximately 9 MB of disk space.

All the other modules are optional, though they are all recommended.
The approximate amount of disk space needed by each module is listed in
    the index file 00_OLB_Index.

Online Bible modules for the NIV, NRSV and other modern English
translations of the Bible are available from the author. These
modules are NOT free, as the texts they contain are still under
copyright. See the Online Bible manual pricing and ordering information.

The Online Bible CD-ROM
-----------------------

The Online Bible CD-ROM contains all the modules found at this site, as
well as other modules not available here. The CD-ROM comes in two
versions: the Classic CD ($40) which contains over 300 meg of Bible texts
and add-on modules. The Deluxe CD ($90) contains everything on the
Classic CD plus the NIV, NASB, NKJV, and NRSV. Both CD-ROMS have all
modules in both runtime and floppy disk image format. See the Online
Bible Manual or the 00_OLB_CD-ROM_Index file for ordering information.
See the file 00_OLB_CD-ROM_Index for a list of all the files on the
    CD-ROMs.
